Naming the pack : Part II - T. to the A.N.K.

Poor baby Tank. Such a short name for such an adorable pup. I had to find a way to give his name some of his outstanding personality. Fortunately the last letter of Tank is "K" so Kaiser fit right in. Having watched a lot of Star Trek as a child, "T" could be nothing other than Tiberius. The "A" was a problem. You see I have 3 nephews whose names begin with "A" - Aaron, Adam and Andrew were all eliminated as options. My friend Tony hates his real name, but it fit with Tiberius so that was solved. Now for the "N". I tried several boys names and none of them worked when I said the entire name out loud. Then it came to me... my favorite cartoon - Jimmy Neutron.

Tiberius Anthony Neutron Kaiser - he's the cutest puppy at Boxer Central

That is also the first line of his song. Imagine if you will some old fashioned Schoolhouse Rock. Conjunction Junction, what's your function? Hooking up words and phrases and clauses.
That is the melody and I never wrote another line for it, so I just repeat it a few times.

Naming the Pack - and singing the songs. Part 1 BGJSK

I realize I am horrible at this whole blogging thing. Thank goodness no one actually anticipates my writing.
This is one of the first posts I intended to write, back when I started and thought I could do this on the regular.

I write songs... No, not the kind that make the whole world sing. Please don't confuse me with Barry Manilow. I write songs for dogs. Yes, DOGS. My first hit was Hansie, the Weiner Dog. I wrote that for my oldest sister's dog and sang it to him every time they came to visit. He loved it. Or at least that was my interpretation of his tolerance of all 3 verses. References to his weight, diet and devotion to my sister all included. He was a great dog. Rest in Peace, Hans... your replacement is a pain in the ass. All barking and yipping and not much of your snuggleness.

Now, back to my Pack at Boxer Central....

Gunner and Peyton came to me with their names already set in stone. T.A.N.K. was Tank and Bruno was Jax. I've always wanted a male boxer named Bruno. When my nephew said I could have a pup for taking care of Mom and Pop, he directed me that it must be Jax/Jackson. Sons of Anarchy influenced.
Only there was one problem. My ex husband's girlfriend already had a little ankle biter named Jax. This could not be. We could not have dogs with the same name. I  renamed him Bruno - only to learn that the poor boy had been known as Gomez, Shrimp & Jackson in the few months of his life.
He became - Bruno Jackson Gomez Shrimp Kaiser.
His song came about through that mouthful of nomenclature. I'll give you the tune - sing it loud and proud.
John Jacob JingleheimerSchmitt - yeah that song. We all sang it, my daughter learned it from Barney in the 90's. :-)

LYRICS
Bruno Jackson Gomez Shrimp Kaiser
His name is really long.
Whenever he runs out, the humans always shout;
"Come back, Bruno Jackson Gomez Shrimp Kaiser"
Na na na na na na na na..... repeat til your sick of it (3-4 times usually)

My apologies for the earworm,

So my Pups are 18 months old and I finally had them fixed last month. It was hella expensive since they were over 60 lbs and I boarded them all week while I went to Arizona. Its been a month and they are definitely a calmer more reasonable duo. Still rambunctious and occasionally a pain in the ass, but less peeing in the house and not as much territorial posturing over me.

Mama and Pop are doing good. Pop needs a girlfriend. He's been a bit moody and is still waiting on Mama to go back into heat. He's not figured out that she won't be going into heat EVER again. I took care of that the 1st week they were here last year. He does create some beautiful offspring...

What they all are is SNUGGLE dogs! Have to be near me or better yet TOUCHING me at all times. Sleeping in my bed is NOT restful. They pin me in the covers and through the night steal all the blankets. They lay on my legs and lean up against my back. I wake up with my lower back, hips and knees hurting. The pressure from 2 - 70lb pups, 85lb Pop and 55lb Mama.... taking their toll on my body. I bought a toddler bed this past week and put their big blanket on it. Mama lays there most of the night, but the boys just can't be that whole 10 feet from me.

Its after Midnight - I need to go to bed. The Walking Dead sucked me in.
The Pack is relaxed and snoring. Mama has her head on my lap. At least its the light weight one and not Gunner - his head alone weighs 20 lbs. lol

DESERT DOGS - 2011-2012 Pacific Division Champions

I want to post this... as a reminder to myself.

As a specific place I can go to reflect on this joyous time in my life as a hockey fan.
My team has won the Pacific Division Championship and I am ecstatic.
I posted this to Facebook, but with the dreaded timeline and the amount of posts I have posted and others have posted = I am afraid it will get lost.

Welcome to Boxer Central - What's it all about?

This will be a way for me to enjoy, share, vent, entertain, and create weekly stories involving my "Pack" and their shenanigans. Nothing makes for dramatic things to blog about better than 2 seven month old puppies and their parents. I live alone (well technically there is a female offspring that comes back from college occasionally, but she's another topic... I could write a blog about HER shenanigans also) in the house next door to my Mother and Sister #3 - there are 6 of us. Yes, ALL sisters - in an old house I rent from Mom. Small town Indiana. REALLY small town. Everyone knows everyone and most of them know your business before you do, and occasionally they will tell you. :-)

The Pack - Gunner = Daddy, Peyton = Momma, Bruno & T.A.N.K.
My nephew moved back to Indiana the same time I did in April. Peyton had this litter of pups the night before he drove here from Florida. There were 8 male pups, all Fawn. Only 7 survived. Of that 7, one of them almost died because Peyton had some problems with feeding them all. My nephew & his Dad bottle fed this one and he is now my Bruno. He was my gift/payment for keeping Gunner and Peyton while Josh returns to Florida and tries to get settled. 2 of my other nephews each got a pup. Matt has Whitten, and Adam has Chester. Josh sold 2 others before he left and I was in charge of selling 2 remaining. I kinda did my job....
I sold Diamond -- now Remington -- to a woman who worked in the Veterinary office that I took them to for their shots. T.A.N.K on the other hand, was always my favorite. I just couldn't let him go. Bruno might get lonely when Gunner and Peyton go back to Florida. (This was my logic to convince myself I should keep him, when really - I just LOVE him <3)
The Pack is napping and I think I am going to follow them. More to come.... maybe.
